Having the "right"...

Updated: Sep 26, 2021

Having the "right" materials, tools or moment for artwork starts here. You'll only need what you have and ten minutes of your time.

Recycle

One of the main reasons why we postpone #artwork is when we think we don't have the right tools.

We look forward to having the money to buy that expensive brand to create the perfect piece. Once again, we know that this is just an excuse.

Use what you have. #recycle

Make a tour in the house and collect what you think can retain ink for a few seconds.

Try something new like #artbrushes and use what you have #artmaterials.

Try something new like art brushes and use what you have.

So let's start this exercise experience with what we have at home, that is, at zero cost.

Let's start!

And do you remember your coffee, the one you prepared before you started? (If not, see here). That remaining coffee that was left in the cup after drinking it will be your ink. Yes, let's paint with coffee! #coffeeink

I prepare everything:

I usually have a base to protect my table. They can be sheets of newspaper or an old towel.

Then I gather my painting materials, a glass of water, some paper napkins and the surface where I will paint. In this case, I will use an old book that I found in the boxes of books to donate and my #sketchbook.

I put on some music, and I always have a hot drink next to me, which at some point forget to drink until the end ;-).

Use What You Have

Get inspired

As for art brushes, I collected some branches, a piece of cardboard, the #nespressocapsules, a piece of tissue, an old toothbrush, a sponge and a Bambu stick. Could be other things but, for me, these ones are good enough.

The first thing I do whenever I have something "new" is to experiment without expectations.

How these new materials mark the surface of the paper? What can I do with them? What can they teach me? We always end up cooperating.

Try It Out

“Be original, show off your style, and express yourself.”

After this I just have fun.

That idea that an "artist" always know how his artwork is going to end is not correct. At least with me is not always like that and here I will no have any expectations.

I will see what my #lefthandedartist is capable.

I will also learn what I prefer to use, what works better for me. What I don't like and probably rarely use again. Is a way to know myself and my "style".

And here is where I invite you to do the same.

Just use what you have and have fun! stART.
