Relax and Find Some Tea Time

Just because it`s International Coffee Day, let go for a good cup of... tea.

Autumn arrived, along with rain and some cold breeze. Nothing goes better with the weekend relaxing painting/drawing moments than a cup of tea or a tonic.

I will leave you some of my favorites recipes below, but before that, let's start the essential discussion about if milk-in-first-or-after.

😁

Nop. Just kidding. No milk for me, thanks. And you? Just do whatever you prefer.

But there are some other points we can agree on, like:

Use freshly boiled water;

Let the tea stand;

Add some honey (or sugar);

And lemon juice.

OK, but you also want some more detailed instructions, and I have to fill in my weekly blog post? Yes, so here it goes.

Start by choosing and using a lovely teapot and cup/mug. Why? Because it is traditional, it will help with the tea ritual, and you deserve to be surrounded with beauty.

Use freshly boiled water. Do not go for reboiled water or even tea. Stop with that.

It is a tiny detail for some of us, but it says a lot about how we treat ourselves, and we deserve a good cup of tea. Go for it!

Warm the pot, whether you are using tea bags or leaf, a quick swirl of hot water means the cold doesn't shock the tea.

If you are using loose-leaf tea, use one teabag per person and one for the pot.

Stir the tea leaves (or bags) to help the tea infuse.

Add boiling water to a tea bag in a mug/cup/200 ml of water, and leave it for two to three minutes. Remove the bag, and wait an extra six minutes. This is the time needed for optimum infusion, allowing the tea to rest and cool to 60 C, the optimum temperature for the flavors to flow. However, leave it more than twenty, and the tea will be past its best, the flavors will be destroyed, and we already decided that you deserve better. Go back to "the boiling water step."

Milk? As I have said, it is each to their own.
