Instagram feed with a better aesthetic that reflects your personal brand.

In today's visually-oriented world, Instagram has become one of the most popular platforms for sharing photos and connecting with others.

I already shared my stress and struggles with this Social Media account and my decision to quiet quitting IG. That means that I`m still there but not full-time. Is kind of my portfolio, but not my significant focus or achievement to accomplish.

I may change my mind later, but for now, I'm focusing on creating quality artwork.

But IG quit quitting means what?

This means that I`ve decided to have a system or, as you can also call, a well-organized layout feed that significantly improved my Instagram presence. So even if a few are following, everyone can agree that there is a cohesive visual experience and a more professional look taht I can show whatever necessary.

Today, I`ll explore and share some practical tips and strategies to help you organize your Instagram layout feed and create a better aesthetic that reflects your personal brand or style without unnecessary stress.

Define Your Theme or Visual Style:

Before organizing your layout feed, defining the theme or visual style you want to portray is crucial. Consider the overall look and feel you want your Instagram profile to have. Do you prefer bright, vibrant colors or a more minimalistic, muted palette? Think about the mood you want to evoke and the content you plan to share. When choosing colors, do not forget to restrict them to half of the dozen. We want to simplify, remember? Also, choose a font that portraits your message and keep to it. Establishing a consistent visual theme will give your feed a cohesive and visually appealing appearance.

  • You can change your mind later, improving the initial concept. But to know what to improve, you must have something done. Keep a schedule for improvements: not too often, not too frequently.

Plan Your Content:

Once you have determined your visual style, planning your content is essential. This step will help you maintain consistency and ensure your feed flows seamlessly. Consider creating a content calendar or using planning tools to organize and schedule your posts. This will allow you to visualize how different images will fit together and make necessary adjustments to maintain a cohesive look.

Use a Grid Layout:

One popular technique to organize your Instagram feed is using a grid layout. With a grid layout, you divide your feed into three or more columns, and each row has a consistent theme or pattern. This can be achieved by alternating between different types of content, such as quotes, landscapes, portraits, or close-up shots. Experiment with varying layouts of grid and find the one best suits your style.

  • To give you an example, I`ve decided to organize my posting like this:

Monday: Carrousel of my work, often inside the same collection/piece.

Tuesday: Reel Tutorial because I want to keep teaching somehow.

Wednesday: Pause.

Thursday: Reel my artwork process.

Friday: Post one picture with music.

Saturday: Reel landscape with a quote related to my artwork.

Sunday: Pause.

Maintain Consistent Colors and Filters:

Consistency in color and filters is vital in creating an aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed. Using the same or similar filters can tie your images together, giving them a unified appearance. Additionally, sticking to a specific color palette can help maintain visual harmony. Tools like Lightroom or VSCO offer a wide range of filters and editing options to help you achieve the desired consistency.

Pay Attention to Image Sizes and Orientation:

To ensure a visually pleasing feed, it's crucial to pay attention to image sizes and orientations. Square images are the traditional Instagram format, but you can also experiment with portrait or landscape orientations. When planning your content, consider how different images will appear in the feed and how they will align with your grid layout. Maintaining consistency in image sizes and orientations can enhance the overall aesthetic of your Instagram feed.

  • The ideal dimensions for each are:

Square and carousel: 1080 x 1080 pixels, 1:1 aspect ratio.

Portrait: 1080 x 1350 pixels, 4:5 ratio.

Landscape: 1080 x 608 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio.

Supported aspect ratios: Anywhere between 1.91:1 and 4:5.

Recommended image size: Width of 1080 pixels, height between 566 and 1350 pixels (depending on whether the image is landscape or portrait.)

Balance High and Low-Quality Images:

While high-quality images are crucial for creating an appealing Instagram feed, adding a few low-quality or candid shots can inject authenticity and personality. Balancing both types of images can make your feed feel more relatable and engaging. However, ensure that even your low-quality images maintain visual coherence with your overall theme.

Be Mindful of Text and Overlays:

If you include text or overlays on your images, ensure they complement your overall aesthetic. Use consistent fonts, colors, and styles to maintain visual harmony. Avoid overcrowding your photos with too much text, as it may disrupt the visual flow of your feed. Instead, opt for minimal and well-placed text or captions that enhance the message or story behind your content.

To Finish, Batch Content:

Batch content creation involves dedicating a specific block of time to create multiple posts at once. This allows you to streamline your content creation process and ensures a consistent flow of posts. Set aside a few hours each week or month to brainstorm ideas, take photos, write captions, and schedule posts in advance. By batching your content creation, you'll have a bank of posts ready to go, eliminating the pressure of constantly coming up with new ideas and content on the spot.

  • For example:

If you've decided to post a video with a quote every Saturday, you can follow the strategy of batch content once for the month. Research the four quotes you intend to use, record or download from a internet free library the videos illustrating your message, edit and save the reels to be posted later in the month.

The same process can be repeated for posts and carousels.
